Can You Change The Shape Of Your Teeth?
Aug 18 2016
Are you interested in improving the appearance of your mouth? Do you not like how your teeth look, their placement, shape, or size? Have you ever considered changing the shape of your teeth? Dr. Sato has some options for you.
There are many options available for changing the shape of your teeth, making your teeth longer, closing a gap in between your teeth, or correcting chipped or broken teeth. Options include bonding, crowns, veneers, and more. Below is an outline of three of the most polar options.
Dental bonding: A resin, usually tooth-colored, is placed on the surface of your tooth or teeth and is hardened using an ultraviolet light. This light “bonds” the tooth-colored resin to your teeth and makes them look natural.
Dental crown: A crown or “cap” is a tooth-shaped cover that is placed in the surface of your tooth. Dr. Sato then cements the crown into place which fully covers the entire visible part of your tooth.
Veneers: A thin custom-made shell, that is often tooth-colored, is made to cover the front of your teeth. Veneers are typically used on your front teeth by removing some of the remaining tooth enamel and replacing it. Veneers change the length, shape, or surface color of your tooth.
All of these options vary in cost, lifespan, and “chair time”. Ultimately, Dr. Sato and you will make a decision on which options is best suited for your needs.
